Need comprehensive care and support
Normally children who have lost one or both parents need a lot of support, mentally as well as financially. Most orphaned children are supported by relatives who are often unemployed or living on pension.
Special Needs of Children
Children living with HIV and AIDS have special needs that are different from those of adults. If they are young, they will not understand the disease and the steps they need to take to stay healthy.
Most children with HIV/AIDS were infected through mother-to-child transmission, and their parents often become ill or die when the children are still very young.
Stigma & Discrimination
They undergo mental trauma due to the discrimination they face from society due to the disease they inherit, which is by no means their fault.
Unfortunately, due to prevailing stigma, many children are left to fend for themselves even by their immediate relatives, and in some extreme cases by their own parents. Without proper medical care, nourishment, and counselling, the survival rate reduces drastically.

Sri Ravi Teja Educational and Infected Children Welfare Society is an independent, non-governmental, social development organization that provides abandoned HIV infected children with family care, shelter, nutritious food, health care, education, and recreational activities.
Our organization is over 25 years old and advocates the concerns, rights, and needs of HIV/AIDS infected children in need of care and protection.
We believe every child orphaned by AIDS deserves love and protection as well as the right to lead a normal life.
